UNFRIENDED

"One night, while teenagers Blaire, Mitch, Jess, Adam Ken and Val take part in an online group chat session, they are suddenly joined by a user known only as "Billie227." Thinking it's just a technical glitch, the friends carry on their conversation... until Blaire begins receiving messages from someone claiming to be Laura Barns, a classmate who killed herself exactly one year prior. As Blaire tries to expose Billie's identity, her friends are forced to confront their darkest secrets and lies."

Unfriended is a teenage thriller film however it cross links with horror and mystery.

The trailer uses a lot of silent moments and blackouts which creates suspense and a lot of mystery. Quick cuts are used to give an insight as to what the film contains and to almost scare the viewers. It gradually gets fast pace which adds excitement. As it involves teenagers, it could make some think that this scenario could become a reality.

HOW TO TARGET A TEENAGE AUDIENCE

Teenagers are considered to be the largest consumer demographic as they can access all types of news and information through many different platforms. They can influence their friends and other people that they know, to go watch or take part in something.

Teenagers want to see advertising that is eye catching and interesting otherwise they will not pay attention to it. Ways to advertise towards a teenage audience can include youtube videos and also advertisements on platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat.

Teenagers generally pay attention and like things that they can relate to. For a film, teenagers watch movies that involves people of a similar age or an 'idol' that they look up to e.g. rappers.

COURSEWORK DRAFT

What I found out about the posters and trailers I watched

TRAILERS
-Nearly all the trailers I watched had blackouts or fades which suggests that they essential for a thriller trailer. This may be because they add suspense to the film which engages the audience, or it could be used as a cliff hanger.
-All of the trailers had intense or eerie music which adds tension, leading up to the idea that something bad and shocking is going to happen. This is typical for a trailer as it gradually builds up interest in the film.
-There were scenes of low lighting which adds a sense of mystery and also 'the unknown', which intrigues the audience.

POSTERS
-Dark colour scheme which connotes evil and possibly mystery.
-Fairly simple as they do not what to give away too much information, (less is more).
-Unknown characters or figures which creates a sense of the unknown and endless possibilities.
-Enigma.

COURSEWORK RESEARCH

WEEKLY NEWS

"National Cyber Security Centre to lead digital war from new HQ in the heart of London"

The aim of this is to try and reduce the number of cyber bully attacks from countered including China and Russia. It will be located off Victoria Street, close to Buckingham Palace.

NCSC chief executive Ciaran Martin said "Our role is helping to make the UK the safest place to live and do business online... But we'll also work tirelessly to protect people automatically from those smaller scale and deeply damaging attacks".

The NCSC aim to;
- Respond to cyber security attacks to limit their damage
- Cut risks to the UK by working with public and private sectors
- Understand the cyber security environment

This is very useful for the society we live in today as nearly all young people own social media accounts which makes them more vulnerable to be attacked by these cyber bullies. One may argue that it is a great idea to build a NCSC in London as it will decrease the amount of hurtful and harsh messages being sent over social media platforms and it will make our society live in harmony. However, realistically they are not going to be able to stop every single message being sent as cyber bullying happens on a day to day basis all around the world.

Some facts on cyber bullying are...
- Nearly 43% of children have been bullied online
- Girls are around twice as likely to be cyber bullied than boys are
- 2 out of 3 teenagers have witnessed cyber bullying
- Victims of bullying are up to 9 times more likely to consider committing suicide
