"National Cyber Security Centre to lead digital war from new HQ in the heart of London"
The aim of this is to try and reduce the number of cyber bully attacks from countered including China and Russia. It will be located off Victoria Street, close to Buckingham Palace.
NCSC chief executive Ciaran Martin said "Our role is helping to make the UK the safest place to live and do business online... But we'll also work tirelessly to protect people automatically from those smaller scale and deeply damaging attacks".
- Respond to cyber security attacks to limit their damage
- Cut risks to the UK by working with public and private sectors
- Understand the cyber security environment
This is very useful for the society we live in today as nearly all young people own social media accounts which makes them more vulnerable to be attacked by these cyber bullies. One may argue that it is a great idea to build a NCSC in London as it will decrease the amount of hurtful and harsh messages being sent over social media platforms and it will make our society live in harmony. However, realistically they are not going to be able to stop every single message being sent as cyber bullying happens on a day to day basis all around the world.
- Nearly 43% of children have been bullied online
- Girls are around twice as likely to be cyber bullied than boys are
- 2 out of 3 teenagers have witnessed cyber bullying
- Victims of bullying are up to 9 times more likely to consider committing suicide
I think the facts are wrong, it was nearly 43.2% of teens which have been cyber bullied. Get your facts very on point because it's the smallest things that make the biggest difference.
